tummy time

dear morgan...

Dear Morgan,
Roses are red, Violets are blue
Thank you for my striped outfit...
it was so sweet of YOU!

Thank you so very much for my sweet striped outfit! I can't even see myself in my own room because I blend in and match my nursery walls perfectly! You are very sweet to have thought of me when you saw this soft, soft outfit! Auntie Danielle is so lucky to have so many wonderful friends at Mylan. My mama and I hope to get to meet you and so many others soon!

With Love,
Eli

sharing smiles.

praise, Him.

Each and every Sunday, Andy and I try with every inch of our being to time things perfectly in order to attend church service. As Eli begins to sleep better and longer, this is becoming a bit easier with each week! Eli loves looking at the ceiling lights when awake, and listening to the praise music that easily aides in putting him back to sleep. This morning, we enjoyed a wonderful service as a family, praising Him, who has so greatly blessed our family in so many ways.

...dressed and ready for church...

hola, el toro!

Oh, how Andy and I have both missed and craved our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Toro! Since Eli's arrival, we have yet to actually go to a restaurant, but have ordered in when we were hungry for something other than what we could prepare in our own kitchen. Yesterday proved to be the day of bravery! Stacking the cards in Eli's favor, we put him in his car seat after his feeding and excitedly drove towards the smell of chips and salsa! Yum! What a taste of "normal" El Toro was! We loved visiting our favorite Mexican restaurant with our little hombre and can't wait until he can have his very own bowl of salsa! It is sure to be one of his favorites too!

eli's big step

For the last three weeks, Eli has been taking most of his naps in his crib and sleeping quite well for the most part. Because of this, Andy and I decided that it was time for Eli to make the BIG MOVE to his crib at night. While he knew no different, I continued to click, click, click our video monitor on over and over to take sneak peeks at him sleeping peacefully. I kept reminding myself that while his bassinet was two steps from our bed, his crib was only six. We hope that his move to his crib leads to wonderful and sleep-filled nights for us all!

seriously, mama...does this hat make my cheeks look chubby?

i did what?!?...really?

Whoa, Baby!

Last night, Eli decided to give his momma and daddy a wonderful gift...the gift of sleep! Suprisingly at almost 6 weeks old, Eli decided to sleep from 10:00 pm to 5:15 am this morning. A fluke you might ask!?! I say "yes"! After waking up several times last night to check on him to assess if he was still breathing (ha!), I decided to listen to our pediatricians and simply wait for him to wake us up. However, after realizing that he slept for 7 hours and 15 minutes, I did decide to give our pediatrician a call. They did instruct me that if he tries this feat again, that because of his age, I must wake him up to eat after 5 to 5 1/2 hours. Fluke or not, it was certainly nice to catch a few more hours of sleep!

...feeling so happy and rested...

a little fun

Each day, Eli and I try very hard to stick to a 3hour schedule. Sometimes we are quite successful and other times...not so much. During this time, we alternate "wake time" activities of our play mat, giraffe mat and mirror, swing, lounger, and bouncer seat. During our time on the play mat yesterday, I decided to try out our new and very small hand-held video camera. It resembles a FLIP, but is actually made by Kodak. It's quite convenient and is so, so easy to use! This small camera will definitely come in handy as we attempt to capture wonderful memories!

round & round

For one of Eli's many "awake" times yesterday evening, we laid him in his ultra-wonderful swing to just watch the lamb mobile go round and round, just like a ceiling fan, which I might add he loves, loves to look at (could Caleb be a relation??). It seems as if our little guy is becoming more vocal, with lots of short shouts of happiness. We just love watching him as he focuses on different things each day!

Thank you Ms. LeeAnn, Ms. Jessica, and Ms. Kayla for giving me my lambs to smile at! I just love them so much!

lets goooo mountaineers

Like the majority of our fellow West Virginians, Andy, Eli, Carmen, and I are enjoying New Year's Day with Mountaineer football! Our little family just loves the gold and blue!

Let's Gooooooooo Mountaineers!

splish, splash

Bath time is becoming a favorite time of the evening for Eli as well as Andy and I. Eli seems to just melt into the warm water and simply loves having his belly covered by his fish wash cloth that Uncle Kent and Auntie Danielle gave him for Christmas!
Splish, splash...we love baths!
