a crib fit for our prince
After finding out that we will welcome a sweet baby boy into our family, Andy and I began to actively search for baby furniture that we loved. With a surprising amount of ease we decided upon what we think is a beautiful set from USA Baby. From this set, we purchased the crib, tall chest of drawers, long chest of drawers, hutch (all of which are pictured above), and nightstand. Like many modern-day cribs, our baby's crib will one day transition into both a toddler bed and then when needed, a full bed. This particular collection comes in two different finishes, espresso and classic cherry. Andy and I decided upon the "classic cherry" finish, which can be seen on the nightstand and the full bed photograph. We are very happy with our new purchase and can't wait until it arrives and takes residency in our nursery!

"It's a Mountaineer!"
I can hardly believe that Andy and I are halfway through "our" pregnancy! It seems as if 20 weeks has come so fast and without one bit of morning sickness...whew...thank goodness!
To celebrate my halfway point and our "baby boy" news, Danielle and Kent mailed me a very special package from West Virginia that we received on our BIG DAY! After bringing back several of Kent's unwanted t-shirts from my last West Virginia visit (...mine are becoming quite snug around the mid section...), they decided that I needed one special one of my own to enjoy! How cute my WVU "It's a Mountaineer" t-shirt is! I have already enjoyed it and am looking forward to sporting my new look during football season! As always, thanks Kent and Danielle for thinking of me and our growing family! We love you both so much and can't wait to introduce you to your special nephew!

anticipating our exciting Tuesday...
With our big ultrasound in only two more days, Andy and I are eagerly anticipating Tuesday's arrival! Not only are we excited to learn if we are having a boy or a girl, but just to see our little baby again in the form of just that...a BABY! Our first ultrasound was so very early that just a precious heartbeat located in what looked to be a "lima bean" was all that we saw. Nonetheless, what a precious sight that beating heart was! It appears that while we are so, so excited for Tuesday, my mother is also highly thrilled for this special day. Andy and I received a very special delivery in our mailbox today! Thanks so much mom! It is such a special frame! We love you and our special gift so, so much!
a whirlwind trip to the "windy city"
Last week, six of my colleagues and myself traveled to Chicago for a teaching conference that addressed different aspects of differentiated instruction. After our sessions were complete (or... perhaps not complete) each day, Dena and I explored the "Windy City"! With delicious meals each day, a beautiful hotel located on Michigan Avenue, and to-die-for shopping on the "Magnificent Mile", our adventure to Chicago was a great time for everyone! How nice it was to spend time with friends outside the walls of our elementary school!

...the residency ticker moves!
Today marks a wonderful milestone in Andy's quest for residency completion. Andy begins his fourth year of residency today out of a total of five years. It's so hard to believe that we've already lived in our Louisville home for two years and that the light is beginning to flicker at the end of the residency tunnel! I am so proud of my wonderful husband and know what an excellent physician he already is and will continue to grow to be!
