our gift to each other.

TO: Us
FROM:
Us

Forgoing our traditional Christmas presents to each other, Andy and I decided to "take the plunge" and purchase a king size bed and new bedding as a "to us, from us" gift! Delivered this past Friday, the new bed is so, so much larger than our former bed! While we do not yet have a king size headboard, we are quite happy with our newest, Christmas purchase!

let us not forget christmas.

Growing more and more aware of the number of days until our departure for West Virginia, I decided to begin wrapping our Christmas presents yesterday evening! After several cups of coffee and a few breaks last night and this afternoon, I am happy to announce that the final bow has been tied. Nonetheless, as I stood and tried to find an empty space for one remaining gift, I couldn't help but remember Brother Kevin's message this morning at church- Let Us Not Miss Christmas! Let us not be like Bethlehem's Inn Keeper, Herod, or even the multitude of religious leaders that missed the very special birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, but let us glorify His name and remember the ultimate sacrifice that He has made for us. For He is our most precious gift of all. Praise be to God for the countless blessings that He has extended to my family and to yours. Merry, merry Christmas!

congratualtions...

Congratulations to our friend Jessica for receiving her Master's Degree from the University of Louisville today! What a great accomplishment and a wonderful Christmas present to know that your hard work and long hours of studying, alongside teaching your pre-schoolers, have finally paid off! Now, on to your endorsements! We are so happy for you!

joy.

JOY. No other word can simply describe the feeling of knowing that you are now on Christmas Break for a wonderful 16 days! To celebrate our new found freedom from elementary school, our friends Dena and Scott, joined us for a "muy delicioso" dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Toro! After two baskets of chips, celebratory margartias, and exchanging of gifts, Dena and I now look forward to our next out-of-school celebration ~ manicures and pedicures on Tuesday! I just love, love Christmas vacation!

final bash...

Andy and I attended his final Christmas celebration for The Brown Cancer Center on a very chilly Wednesday evening at the Olmstead. We had such a nice time visiting with those that he works with and sharing the Christmas season with them!

special delivery...

This afternoon, Andy and I received a very special - and not to mention adorable - Christmas card from my brother, Kent and his sweet fiance, Danielle! What a true blessing it is to welcome Danielle into our family! Andy and I are so, so very excited for August!

christmas came early...

This morning, Andy and I set out on an NFL adventure! Receiving his first Christmas present from me a bit early, we excitedly drove to Indiana to watch the Indianapolis Colts take on the Cincinnati Bengals ! What a treat it was to watch the Colts play in their new, beautiful dome in complete warmth! Absolutely no gloves, coats, scarves, or hand warmers were needed! I think I could get used to watching live football in this manner! What a great day we spent together in Indianapolis!

Look carefully for the consistently suspended
West Virginia University alumnae, Chris Henry, #15. While he played little, he did however remind us of his former antics at Mountaineer Field by receiving a characteristic personal foul...

let the festivities begin...

Andy and I enjoyed both a Christmas party for the physicians, residents, and physicists from the James Brown Cancer Center and a second celebration with my colleagues from Shacklette Elementary School this week! Both parties were held at venues on River Road and were much enjoyed with the company of our good friends!

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...

Little by little, our Christmas decorations are making their way into their proper places in our Louisville home! Thanks to my Aunt Kay, the spectacular and very special florist in my hometown, Andy and I have so many beautiful things to bring Christmas joy into our home! Thank you, thank you Aunt Kay for the special and beautiful touches that you have given us throughout the years! We love having a little piece of you in Louisville!

I love, love my beautiful grapevine tree, made
especially for my birthday by my Aunt Kay.
