from pittsburgh to louisville...

What a wonderful weekend! My special friends Heather and Jamie visited Andy and I this weekend! Sorority sisters from West Virginia University, Heather, Jamie, and I had an official Louisville girls weekend full of shopping, eating, manicures, and pedicures. Thanks girls for a fun Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! I loved spending time with you both and can't wait to see you again soon!

fireproof.

Along with a sold-out audience of Highview Baptist Church members, Andy and I had a special "date afternoon" at the movies to watch Fireproof, a compelling, heart-opening, and inspiring movie that depicts marriage as it should be: a Christ-centered, life-long commitment. What a great afternoon it was spent together!

Our bible study class enjoyed its annual Couples Olympics and cookout today at Charlie Vettner Park. What a beautiful afternoon it was to spend with special friends!

a festival with friends...

This morning, Whitney, Baby Caleb, Jessica, and I visited a local festival with many, many craft vendors. We had a great time exploring the different booths! I love, love my front stoop pumpkin, but especially enjoyed our morning together! Thanks girls and Caleb for a fun outing!

off to the ryder cup...

Andy is so excited to have a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday pass to the Ryder Cup, hosted this year in Louisville! Needless to say, getting up this morning was no problem at all as he was easily out the door by 7:15 am. He's definitely ready for a full day of PGA golf and I'm so excited that he gets to enjoy this fun experience in our new city! Now, if we could only get Andy on the PGA tour... Hmmmm...

keeping watch.

a sticky situation...

Another day off school allowed Jessica and I to put our creative flairs to the test! We measured, leveled, and held our breath to adhere her new "wall tattoo" above her eat-in kitchen window! After a few "sticky situations" it looks great! Jess, I hope you love your wall art as much as Andy and I love ours! Thanks for sharing another fun afternoon!

and thursday makes four...

Due to strong Sunday winds that crippled the city of Louisville, I have not had school the entire week and will continue to be off tomorrow as well. While this unexpected fall break has come as a surprise to everyone, my friend Jessica, her mother, Lee Ann, and I have embraced our "school-less" days and have enjoyed lunches out Monday through Thursday! What a fun and memorable week we have had, not to mention the super food and friendship!

here comes fall...

I can hardly believe that we are in our last two weeks of September! Embracing the slightly cooler temperatures, I decided to get our fall decorations out from the attic and switch our home decor to fit the upcoming season. Now, we will be ready for the official start of fall on September 22nd!

cute.

a family visit...

Andy's mother, father, and grandmother visited from West Virginia this weekend! We were thrilled to have them! Carmen was so excited to have new company to play with! We hope that both his brother and sister's family visit in the upcoming months! We can't wait to share our Louisville home with them soon!

happy teeth...

Carmen experienced a pretty traumatic day yesterday. She had her teeth professionally cleaned for the very first time and was "microchipped" in case she would ever become lost! The procedure required for her to be put to sleep and to spend the entire day at the vet's office. She was quite happy to see me, but very sleepy and still a bit groggy when I went to get her after work. Needless to say, she rested the entire evening. However, Carmen was back to her normal self this morning after a good night's rest. We've played the entire morning!

country roads, take me home...

Andy, Carmen, and I spent Labor Day weekend in our hometown of Philippi, West Virginia. It was so nice getting to spend a whirlwind, long weekend with our family and friends. We miss them so much and no time is ever long enough! We certainly are NEVER bored during our visits! During our stay, mom and I went on a "Devon Day"--my favorite shopping days of all, cheered on our Mountaineer football team (WVU 48 Villanova 21), savored a DELICIOUS dinner with Dad at the very gourmet Cheat River Inn, visited with Danielle and Kent over key lime pie, enjoyed Nana and Papaw, chatted with our special friends Denise and Josh, and feasted on one of our favorites...Twin Oaks pizza and salad with both mine and Andy's family! Needless to say, we had a wonderful visit and can't wait to see our mountains again!

After a very busy weekend, an exhausted Carmen rested well on her way home!
